Glasswater Recovery privacy notice

Updated October 15, 2026. This notice covers the private Glasswater Recovery Mac backup helper.

Access and purpose

The owner chooses local business data and recovery destinations. Google authorization uses only the drive.file scope. The helper manages its own created recovery files and folders; it does not request general access to unrelated Drive content. It processes the connected account’s identity and recovery-file metadata, such as file IDs, sizes and checksums, to select the right account and verify backups.

Storage and security

Selected databases and files are encrypted on the Mac before upload to the owner’s chosen business Drive and optional personal Drive. A recovery key kit is encrypted separately. Its distinct unlock is never uploaded to either account and must be retained independently by the owner. Google authorization credentials remain in private Mac configuration or Keychain and are used with Google to authorize the selected operations. Private local receipts record backup and verification status.

Use and sharing

Google account information and recovery-file data are used for owner-authorized backup, integrity checks and recovery. The helper does not sell this data, use backup contents for advertising or AI model training, send backup contents to AI services, or add sharing permissions. Google stores the encrypted files under the owner’s Drive account and its applicable terms. Existing account and folder access remain under the owner’s control.

Retention and deletion

The normal configuration targets the newest 30 recovery points, with capture attempts every six hours. This is a count, not a 30-day deletion promise. Older known backup artifacts become eligible for cleanup only after newer verification succeeds; failed or conflicting artifacts may remain for review. Old database objects may enter Drive Trash, and unused incremental backup data is reclaimed through repository cleanup. Separately retained key kits and manual copies remain until the owner removes them. Google’s Trash and account retention controls also apply.

Owner controls and contact

The owner can stop the helper, change destinations, revoke its access in the Google account, and manage or delete recovery files in Drive. Revoking access stops future authorized operations; it does not itself delete existing backup copies. Questions or requests about this private helper can be sent to staff@glasswaterfl.com.
