Glasswater Recovery

Glasswater Recovery is a private, owner-operated Mac backup helper for the Glasswater business. It prepares encrypted recovery copies of business databases, selected original files, application source and installed apps so the owners can recover after a Mac failure or loss.

Owner-controlled Drive backups

The owner explicitly connects a business Google Drive account as the primary destination and, optionally, a personal account as a separate secondary destination. Each account requires its own consent. The helper requests only Google Drive’s drive.file permission and manages recovery folders and files created by that OAuth app. It does not request general access to unrelated Drive files.

Database artifacts and incremental file backups are encrypted on the Mac before upload. Recovery keys can be kept in a separately encrypted key kit; its distinct unlock is never uploaded to either Drive account. The owner must retain that unlock independently.

The configured schedule is every six hours while the Mac and required services are available, with a target of the newest 30 recovery points. Verification and retention safeguards apply. A completed upload, a verified backup and a recoverable unlock are recorded separately.

The owner controls connected accounts, backup operation and Drive files. The recovery helper does not add sharing permissions or send backup contents to advertising or AI services.
